On the same night of a “State of the Arts” delivery by gallery owner Emiliano Settecasi, Ybor City’s Kress Collective opened its doors for yet another open house last Thursday, March 7.
New gallery openings included Reverb, a new, long-term collaboration between the University of South Florida School of Art and Art History and Kress Contemporary. The gallery—which moved into the old Quaid parcel—showed local art supporters an exhibition, “Third Person,” that included work from Mason Dowling, Tom Rosenow, and Amber Toplise.
A press release from Reverb (stylized "R E V E R B") says the exhibition “explores the ambiguous relationship between artist, artwork, and viewer. Subverting the traditional equation of subject-viewer relationships, Third Person grapples with the unsolvable nature of what it means to understand a work of art.”
