Unity and acceptance are the central themes of
Pasco’s Pride celebration, which in recent years has
moved out of New Port Richey to Land O Lakes.
Organizers in the northern Bay area have lined up mainstage performances including music, poetry, and drag, plus local vendors, LGBTQ+ community services, food trucks and more.
“We have an amazing location, a strong team of volunteers, and a renewed sense of purpose following the brutal assaults on marginalized communities that ramped up this year. We know that Florida needs intentional spaces for queer folks to gather and organize, now more than ever," Diana Shanks, Executive Director of Pasco Pride, wrote in a release.
Admission is free, but the organization is collecting $20 donations to help with costs.
Pasco Pride also needs someone to let the festival borrow a golf cart or two; anyone who can help with the wheels should contact Heather St. Armanda at
813-830-1700.
Pasco Pride Festival happens Saturday, Feb. 24 at Heritage Park in Land O Lakes. Subscribe to Creative Loafing newsletters.
